Parent Information Sessions and Workshops
Parents and families are invited to attend the following sessions at the Enfield Advisory Services for Autism’s location in Bell Lane, EN3 5PA.
Please note that for the workshops, MAPS sessions and Cygnet information sessions a place needs to be booked by contacting EASA on 020 8353 4186.
Workshops
Workshops for parents cover the following topics:
- Safety awareness
- Behaviour, Routines & Boundaries
- Toileting
- Sleep
- Eating

- Zoom 1 – SENDIASS Coffee Mornings Tuesdays 10.00-12.30PM
- Zoom 2 - SENDIASS Coffee Evenings Thursdays 7.30-9.00PM
- Picnic in the park – SENDIASS Summer Picnic in the Park Wednesdays 11.30am-2.30pm
Cygnet Parent Information Sessions about Autism
Cygnet Parent Information Sessions help parents to find out more about autism and learn about strategies to support their child. These sessions are run by Educational Psychologists and Parent Support Advisors from Enfield Advisory Service for Autism (EASA) in a supportive and confidential group.
There are 5 ‘core’ weekly information sessions (core sessions) on:
- 'Autism & Diagnosis'
- 'Communication'
- 'Sensory Issues'
- 'Understanding Behaviour'
- 'Supporting Behaviour'
There are two additional aspects; sessions about these alternate on a termly basis:
- Supporting Siblings' (1 session)
- Puberty, Sexual Wellbeing & Relationships (2 sessions)

Making A Positive Start (MAPS)
MAPS is a series of 5 information sessions for parents who have recently received a diagnosis of autism for their child. They provide an opportunity to meet with professionals to find out more about autism, what support is available in Enfield and some top tips to understand behaviour, communication, interaction and sensory differences.
The sessions focus on:
- Meet & Greet' (Optional)
- What Is Autism? (Mandatory)
- Strategies To Use At Home (Mandatory)
- Understanding Behaviour (Mandatory)
- Community Resources (Mandatory)
There is also an optional coffee morning which provides a chance to meet some other parents whose children have also recently received a diagnosis of autism. It is an informal session where you can have a cup of coffee and introduce yourself and your child to the other parents in the group.
